Ultramarine
Description
Ultramarine is a rich and transparent blue pigment that was first created by French chemist Guimet in 1828. It was developed as a synthetic alternative to the costly pigment derived from Lapis Lazuli, which was often used to create blue paint before the discovery of Ultramarine.
