Middle Gray
Description
Middle Gray is a dark blue-gray color that is created by combining Ultramarine, Lamp Black, and occasionally Crimson. It is named after the 18th-century water-colorist William Payne, who developed this mixture and frequently suggested it to his students as a substitute for plain black.
