Description
Burnt Umber is a deep and rich brown pigment that is created by heating natural brown clays found in the earth. Similar to other earth pigments, it draws its name from Umbria, a region in Italy renowned for its mining of this pigment. The process of burning the raw pigment intensifies its color, resulting in a darker and more intense shade of brown.
